A.L.I.ELatin American Association of

The A.L.I.E. (Latin American Association of Educational Computing) is a
non profit educational institution created to promote interchange of experiences on the
use of technology in education of the Latin American and Caribbean countries.
Information about adresses of local associations in Latin American and Caribbean
countries with similar objectives than ALIE, is useful for us.
And we would also further appreciate if you send us information about meetings and
conferences related to technology in education in Latin American Coutries, and specially
about LOGO.
OBJECTIVES
The main objectives of our institution are:
It was created in July 1991 with members of Argentina, Bolivia, Brasil, Chile,
Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Mexico, Venezuela and Latin-American people who live in the
United States, France and Israel. In 1992 Uruguay was added through the AUDINE (Uruguayan
Association of Computing Education).
ALIE was incorporated in Mexico city under the presidence ('91-'92) of Alfonso Ramirez
Ortega from Mexico. In 1994 it was reestructured during the presidence of Rene Herrera
Santana from Cuba ('93-'94) in order to improve the performance of the association with
the creation of two regions: northern and southern which are divided by the Ecuador line.
Actually the President is Eduardo de Antueno from Argentina and the VicePresident Dr.
Marco Murray-Lasso - UNAM from Mexico.
Our institution gives support to the International Congress of Educational Computing
which is held every year in Argentina with the attendance of distinguished keynoters of
the region.
