The "Escuela Técnica Otto Krause" is an educational institution located in downtown Buenos Aires, Argentina. It was founded in 1897, and currently enrolls approximately 2000 students. It is the oldest technological school in the country, and is named after its founder Otto Krause, the son of German immigrants.

The school operates on a six-year program. The first three, called ciclo básico, provide essentially a technical-scientific high school program for youngsters that have completed their elementary education. The final three, called ciclo superior, provide the equivalent of a college education in engineering technology. Not too different from a Bachelor of Engineering Technology program in the United States.

Currently, the school provides the following majors:

Through both cycles, all courses are given in the daytime. There are no night classes, other than some one-year courses given at the graduate level. These are not leading to a degree, and are generally taken individually, due to their highly specialized nature. They currently include:

Classes operate on a year system rather than semesters. Students must elect a major at the end of the ciclo básico. There are no electives within a major. Students are organized in sections, called divisiones, generally several for each major, who take all their courses, shop, and lab work, together. Therefore, developing strong personal bonds.

The weekly class-hour load is about 20. Shops and labs require an additional 12 hours. This applies to both cycles. The school year begins in March –the Southern Hemisphere’s fall— and ends in November, with only a short break in July.

Classes are taught in Spanish. English is taught as a second language and is mandatory for all students. Language courses in German, French and lately Italian, are offered as an extra-curricular activity.

Graduates of the school obtain employment in industry and government. In addition, many graduates enroll at the national University of Buenos Aires, or other universities such as Universidad Tecnológica Nacional, for a six-year program, leading to an advanced engineering degree. This degree is called "Ingeniero", and in its abbreviated form "Ing." is used in front of a name, such as Dr. is used for doctor in the U.S. The majority of the instructors at the higher cycle have completed this training. Some of the professors teach at both institutions. Only a few of the graduates enroll in non-engineering university programs.

A Museum of Technology, open to the general public, and recently expanded, operates from within the school.

The school is completely tuition free. It was originally a institution of the Argentine federal government, and was then known as Escuela Industrial de la Nación. It is now part of the educational system of the government of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires.

The school is located within walking distance from the historic Plaza de Mayo and  the Casa Rosada, the presidential palace of Argentina.
